“Ideologies are not defeated with guns, they are defeated by better ideas.”
-The President of the United States of America (Barack Obama)
Quixotic at best. Dangerously ignorant at worst.
Heard of history? (The Holocaust, Khmer Rouge, ISIS, the list goes on and on and on and on and on)
If you think savages can be defeated with a peaceful,
conflict-resolution approach, think again.
With money, Obama’s reckless
But with foreign policy, feckless
He wracks up obscene debt
And says Iraq is not a threat
(and speaking of, let’s transition to talking about the crisis)
People like to blame George W.
And yes, he brought some trouble, true
But Bush predicted this would happen
And yet, our current administration’s napping!
It’s an error to think terror is all but done.
With ISIS, things look like they may have just begun.
I wanna be wrong, I wish it weren’t so
But the truth is America could take a major blow
This is more than some paranoid, unfounded fear
Mr. President, it’s high time you got your @ss in gear.
“Thanks to our stubborn-headed president….
this is another 9/11 in the making.”
-South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham
and I completely validate many of the common concerns that go along with it! Unfortunately, history has shown that many evil and abusive deeds have been done by those professing to act in the name of God. Imperialism/forced conversion, mistreatment of women, acts of terrorism (of a range of means and magnitude), twisting of doctrine for one’s own purposes (the Book of Mormon refers to this as priestcraft), that kind of thing. So I don’t think people who “swear off religion” are necessarily bad people AT ALL (unless they are unkind and blatantly mock others’ beliefs).
But we are all looking for truth.
More to come.
PS. I use such images with intensely great care and NEVER intend to be flippant about abuse of any kind. Just wanted to express that yet again because I simply cannot emphasize it enough. Also, I know that there are many good people in the Catholic Church.
We at war with terrorism,
We at war with racism,
but most of all, we at war with ourselves.
A thousand little wars I have to choose between
Some of the greatest battles will be fought within
the CHAMBERS OF YOUR OWN SOUL.
I’m in the war of my life.
