I LOVE THIS BLOG SO MUCH! I want to shout it from the rooftops. And yes, it does come up in conversations. But I also don’t want to shove it down anyone’s throat, make it feel like I’m trying to sell something, or hog the conversation.
But the thing is, when it DOES come up, it’s helping me network, help my friends and neighbors with job opportunities, gets me in touch with other musicians and writers, improving my relationships, share what is important to me, learn more about photography/graphics, and overall is making me very VERY happy.
Thunderbolt of blasphemy? You bet.

I ain’t perfect, but IÂ am conscious of those who may look up to me.
And again, no money directly from this blog yet (but indirectly yes!), so it’s highly possible that I am grossly over-estimating any influence I may or may not have.  Oh, and this post just wouldn’t be complete without a little Taylor:

I’m sorry that I’m flooding your inbox. I know you get an email every time I post, and at this point, I am writing between 15-30 new posts per day. I think it will slow down eventually, but if you continue to follow me (and please do!!!), know that there will always be notifications. 🙂

I’ll drink to that (my glass is empty so fill it up with something…non-alcoholic please!) AND make a toast to my readers! Thank you so, so, SO much. And believe it or not, I still have lots to write about. Live your own lives and tell your own experiences, of course, but still mosey on over when you can, okay?
Oh, and I copied Rihanna’s look once upon a time, remember?
P.S. All those numbers add up to just over 5,000. I promise. And no, I didn’t add them myself. And no I didn’t keep clicking my stats button waiting to get to that magic landmark. 🙂

I love post-it notes (also known colloquially as stickies)!
1)Â Literal:
They are good for leaving notes on people’s cars or writing to your visiting-teachees.
2)Â Figurative:
You better believe this blog would not/could not exist without my beloved post-its/stickies.
But whatever you do, DO NOT break up with me on one!
(And whatever you do, DO NOT judge me for loving/posting these videos.)
Then will have a melt down.Â

Just another shout out to this amazing human being, Neil Pasricha, author of the Webby-award winning blog 1000 awesome things. Â Thanks for inspiring me, giving me hope and confidence, and also being a HUGE PART of the creation of this blog!
Hey Mr. PASRICHA, did you see my post about a PASHMINA scarf? See what I did there?
Seriously though, Neil, come on out to Salt Lake. Bring your girlfriend with you. We’ll have a swell time. And I’m sure with the dough you’re rolling in you can afford to take me out to eat. Think of the traffic it would do to BOTH our blogs! And this ain’t no truth in jest invitation. This is….dead serious 🙂

Sounds like a new Nike ad slogan or something, huh? Big bucks are coming my way! Truth in jest. If you’re real nice to me, maybe I’ll share. Dead Serious.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard this phrase (or something along those lines), I wouldn’t even care about the fortune I plan on making from this blog 🙂 No but seriously, I’ve given this idea some real thought. And here’s what I’ve come up with: I do not mean to be a walking song. I can see how my near constant lyrical references could come off as being trite or cliche, not to mention potentially annoying. It’s just that if someone has already found the words that perfectly express what you are feeling, why would you try to find new ones? Economy of thought, people! Plus you can still be creative and original by borrowing art. Moulin Rouge, anyone?

BUT I JUST CAN’T STOP! Faith has a short-shelf life, but so does inspiration.  It’s not a manic energy though, it’s just excitement and clarity. Must only stop writing for the bare necessities (showers are up for debate). And this kind of writer’s high is rare indeed. Better take it and run with it. Who knows how long I can go before I burn out? Renae, you DO know he mentions Peachtree, right? 🙂

There are SOOOO many examples of this, but here are just a few:
1)Â Kanye West- (um, Taylor Swift incident, anyone?)
2)Â Eminem (If CNN has a top 10, that’s pretty bad Marshall)
3)Â John Mayer (You know I love you Johnny, but don’t be spilling your secrets about women! Plus, chastity is where it’s at, anyways.)
And countless, countless others. These people are often UNBELIEVABLY GIFTED, but when they get brought up in conversation, unfortunately that all often just gets forgotten because of mistakes they’ve made.
Just one more reason to keep my clothes modest. That and I haven’t hit the gym in a while.
PS. I do believe in repentance and redemption. I do.

People I swear I go outside these days. I do take showers (once a month is normal, right?), eat, sleep, hang out with others. But yes, it is true that I also have been WAAAAAY into my blog lately. No denying that. Don’t be hatin’! Anyways, so far I’ve had about 50 views from Turkey. TURKEY! Never been there. But my brother and sister-in-law DID bring me this Pashmina scarf from there a few years ago (that’s what happens when your brother is a doctor and you are not). Just wanted to share.
Thanks to my Turkey viewers! I hope you keep coming back!

This was a significant part of the theme I would state every Sunday in Young Women’s. It comes from this passage in the Book of Mormon.
I am not an official spokesperson or representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (But check out more about Michael Otterson here-he’s one of my absolute faves!) But I still do believe it is important (AND GREATLY DESIRE!) to stand as a witness of God, even, and especially when it comes to this blog.
Now I am not perfect by any stretch.
Yes! (hard to believe I know…)
(“um,” I will continue, thanks John…)
And is there sometimes a bit of possible tension between my 3 fold identity of Mormon, woman, and human?
Absolutely.Â
But has there ever been a clash that I believe could hurt the image of the Church or cause major confusion?
No.Â
And if there ever was, I don’t believe I would expose it, at least not completely.
Plus it’s not like I’m super famous anyways so even if I did I’m not sure anyone would care. 🙂
I’m only one voice in a million, but you ain’t takin’ that from me!
(in case you are too lazy/prideful to click on that above link,
it is from this waving woman…)
ANYWAYS, just wanted to express that I am conscious of the fact that this blog in some small way represents not only myself, not only my family, not only my friends, not only the LDS Church, but also Christ himself.
Is that blasphemous or arrogant? No way, Jose. Peace out!
PS. I’d give my bangs (first picture!) a B+ that day.
READERS!
What are you a witness of?
And please don’t stop reading my blog because I
ended that last sentence with a preposition…

but not enough to make it inappropriate or uncomfortable.
I am Mormon, woman, and human, and the order of those 3 things sometimes changes. And I want to be honest but not obscene. There is nothing on this blog that I wouldn’t want an employer to see. Or my mom. There is nothing that I believe could compromise my temple recommend. And still I bare my soul. But it seems to be working out okay because I keep getting more and more followers 🙂

On Sunday, my home-teachers Dan and Todd came over to give me a little lesson. These guys are both attractive, hard-working, and successful. They also love God. So the lesson went great, but the REAL party started after when we pulled out the pogo-stick!
Mormons don’t just go to church for 3 hours every Sunday, people. We do stuff like this. Join the church and I will buy you a pogo-stick for your baptism. And you’ll just have to keep coming back to my blog to wait for a picture of me doing the pogo-stick 🙂

about people with pictures (particularly FB profile pictures) of themselves with children that are not directly their own (like a niece or nephew). We want people to think we love them (which we do!), but really we just think we look super hot and want others to see and think we are good with kids and stuff. Ain’t pointing any fingers. I do it too! Now I love my little twin nieces. But come on now, you know who this picture is really about 🙂

I am a better singer than Taylor Swift (whom I absolutely ADORE by the way), and my guitar skills are prob about the same if not better. Other than the whole song-writing thing (I merely dabble while girlfriend churns out hit after hit), why am I not selling out world tours? Taylor rocks it to millions……..
