U2 has some excellent, inspiring, rocking, wistful, strong Christian/Biblically themed, romantic, slightly sexy, and overall QUALITY music (duh!).
Lyrics here (these profound words have brought me closer to Christ. TRULY!)
They (Bono and his boys) also have quite a few really weird songs…
Saw U2 in concert on May 24, 2011. ONE OF THE BEST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE!
🙂
*if you don’t listen to that first song, you are crazy as the second song is…

I don’t mind playing the game of “Devil’s Advocate” (and sometimes even greatly enjoy it!)
as long as it’s done in an Angelic way.
And Renae, you are my angel by the way. So are you, Natasha girl…
“He that hath the Spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil.”
Now good luck disagreeing with THAT!
🙂
and do you think the blue/white color scheme in the pix is an accident? only in ur dreamz…

KATching the bouquet!
Sometimes Katherine
catches the bouquet!
And other times KatherineÂ
does not.
figuratively AND literally…

2) When have you NOT “caught the bouquet?”

Zac Brown Band fills the void of what has been missing in country music!
Yes they do! These boys are the REAL DEAL. Ain’t no sell-outs wearing cowboy hats singing with some ugly fake twang (I ain’t naming names, but ya’ll know who I’m talkin’ ’bout) . Expect to hear more about ZBB on this blog. The night I saw them in concert with Renae was one that has influenced me to this day. Don’t know where to start musically because it’s ALL amazing, but here’s an all-time favorite:
(best part is 3:00-3:30)
Seriously, that voice gives me chills, and it’s even BETTER in person.
Great memories 🙂 Of the concert, and also of my hair looking that beautiful.

Text Messages Can Inspire Songs!
I have seen Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband in concert three times. They are excellent musicians, creative songwriters and also very, very funny guys. I distinctly remember Ryan saying that this song was inspired by text message exchanges between himself and his wife. Awesome!  So that’s just another plug for what I talked about earlier concerning saving your text-messages. Who knows, maybe you have a great hit in the making. Do it, ya’ll!
(me and my girls with some of the boys from the band)
And I know I should let the song speak for itself, but I just can’t help but give a little commentary. First of all, the chord structure is the same as Cannon. And I’m loving the trumpets/brassy sound of it all. And finally the lyrics? So cute 🙂

Robert and Renae:
Together in my phone,
Together in life
🙂
PS Yes that is how ghetto my phone is, and yes they do have phone numbers. I just photo-shopped them out so they don’t get hounded by the paparazzi.

One pair of candy lips and your bubble gum tongue
#This is the song that made everyone think JM was just a heart-throb lothario (which he is!), but us true fans know he’s much, much more.
#I try hard not to repeat pictures, but it’s one of the only tongue ones I have, and I don’t want to do a photo-booth picture just to get a good tongue shot. And least not today.
#acoustic is almost always better!
#someone as goofy as me can’t be legitimately sexy anyways, so I think it’s all good
#Me including this song might be one of those times where I cross over into that territory of being a teensy bit over that line of propriety, just a little. And that’s just fine. 🙂

My (literal) dirty laundry is piling up…
BUT I JUST CAN’T STOP! Faith has a short-shelf life, but so does inspiration.  It’s not a manic energy though, it’s just excitement and clarity. Must only stop writing for the bare necessities (showers are up for debate). And this kind of writer’s high is rare indeed. Better take it and run with it. Who knows how long I can go before I burn out? Renae, you DO know he mentions Peachtree, right? 🙂

“Am I wearing too many colors?”
I love colors. And I love dressing to IMpress, as well as EXpress.
But I want people to see and remember not just my clothes, but also ME and my natural beauty (enhanced a little with makeup and occasionally fake lashes). And when you wear a lot of bright things that stand out, there can be too many things to look at. So maybe if I wanna wear a bright color, I should just stick to one.
Nah…

This makes me SOOOO happy!
Renae told me about this and, um, the only way I could love this video more is if I was the bride and that beautiful man was singing to me. Oh, and I’d probably get a dress with sleeves 🙂 And also girlfriend ‘s beautiful and seems very nice, but she didn’t need to spend so much time at the tanning bed….

The Scream
Sadly, this famous painting by Edvard Munch captures the general feeling/ psyche/uncertainty/insecurity/depression/ spirituality/ identity/crisis of many people not only of the time when it was painted at the turn of the 19th century, but also of many people today in 2013. There have been times in my own life when I could photoshop my own face into that distorted figure and call it a self-portrait. So what is to be done? No easy answer, but here’s a thought: no matter your religion/ beliefs/ camp/political leaning, let’s at least try to show some love, respect, and kindness to try and ease that feeling a little. And maybe sometimes we can dance in the parking lot 🙂
