Jessica Simpson needs a grammar lesson,

Image

and Professor Wilkinson is up to the task!

And Jess, notice that I took your animal prints example

so that you felt a bit more on my level.

(although it’s painfully clear who the English teacher is here…)

(1:22-1:40):

and now, smiley student, let me show you how it’s really done:

Grammar Recap:

1)  Avoid blatant self-contradictions (unless there is a highly specified purpose)

2)  Avoid using the same word twice within such a short time-span.

3)  Be ever so cautious about your level of commitment/definition when expressing surety/doubt.

4)  Wear a shirt that covers your stomach.

5)  Katherine loves aviator sunglasses…

🙂

*Oh, I would like to reiterate that surprisingly I do enjoy Ms. Simpson’s song.  Perhaps even more than this guy’s:

Weird, huh?

Last thoughts for this post

(and actually the most important one too!):

Jessica, your (future) children REALLY deserve for you to be married to their father.

Hozabout you get on that one?

Sooner than later, please.

Not meaning to judge or be unkind

Just sayin…

~LDS Family Proclamation to the World

dear readers, I HIGHLY recommend clicking on the above link and reading this.

It is an incredibly awesome document!

🙂

Oh, and this is hardly the first post in which I’ve exposed grammatical errors in ubiquitous pop songs.

Carly Rae Jeppson needed a little help not too long ago.

Who’s next?

It. Gets. Better.

Just watch it, okay? 🙂

(and don’t say you don’t have 10 minutes; You ARE reading this blog, after all!)

In April 2012 I attended a seminar put on by the Sociology department at BYU concerning these same issues.  It wasn’t about marriage/ legal stuff at all.  It was just about what it is like to be gay/ lesbian/ bisexual, but still abide by the laws of God and the precepts of the Honor Code.

There is LOTS to say about the seminar, and I hate to try to “sum up” an event that was very complex, very classy, and very important.  But for now I’ll simply express that I was incredibly inspired by the bravery of not only the 4 panel members (who each told his/her individual story with honesty, tact, and vulnerability), but also by everyone who in any way experiences same-gender attraction, particularly if they choose to abide by the standards of the LDS Church.

Thank you.

God loves you.

I do too.

“I love you,”

Imageis NOT something to say casually.  Words are powerful, but in this case:

Flippancy is an indicator of MAJOR cowardice.

I am not angry anymore.  Remember what I said about forgiveness?

I am grateful for pizza combos and for lactose intolerance,

especially when it comes to saucy boys.

tell me you love me, come back and haunt me…

“A [wo]man filled with the love of God is not content to blessing [her] family alone, but ranges through the whole world, anxious to bless the whole human race.”

And holy freakin’ cow, does she embody it!  Her money is TOTEZ where her mouth is…

Even I can’t find the words to express how I feel about this girl.

Help me out, Natasha:

Can’t think of a better way.  That’s all I have to say.  I love you!

PS.  In case you’re wanting some sort of count, she’s been to Uganda (TWICE!), the Phillippines, Fiji, France, and probably a million other places I don’t even know about.  Jet-lagged much?

How old does someone have to be to be in love?

Image

Can’t always put a number on that kind of thing,

but OLDER THAN 13, AND 14, THAT’S FOR FREAKIN’ SURE!

Glad it didn’t work out with that girl you met when you were 13, Ludacris (props to you if you get my reference here).

I like pretzels AND kisses,

Image                           Image

but some are more appropriate to share than others, know what I mean?

What do kisses mean when given out like pretzels and robbed of sacredness?

PS.  That pretzel is heart-shaped!  So even if you just give someone a pretzel, you still love them.  Gotta run this metaphor dry…
