KATH DON’T CARE what Simon Says…
Truths to Consider:
1) WE ARE ALL ARTISTS! (here’s Prezident Uchtdorf’s take on this…)
2) We ain’t all gonna make it big (and that’s okay, ya’ll!)
3) Stem of Jesse (Jessica!) in the scriptures
4) What insight “The Merchant of Venice” taught me about the HBO filth series “Girls”
5) My take on “The Great Gatsby” in 3 sentences.
6) Haven’t yet written about Mark Twain’s ever famous and influential piece (Huck Finn). Stay. Tuned.
7) What Amanda Bynes (indirectly) taught me about Mormon temples.
8) “American Idol” certainly has produced some talent, but overall is waaaaay over-rated.
9) Hozaboutcha take an exodus from this blog and go read about what Moses says about idols? (here!)
10) Katherine loves wordplay. And admit it, she’s pretty darn awesome at it, huh? 🙂
(muuuuch better, darlin’)
Just sayin’
(Kath, refer to your title in an awesome way that only you can…)
this song is one of the best in recent history. just sayin’
🙂
So friends please take it to heart, when I say to go make some art!

Lena Dunham and her friends would do well to stop being such GIRLS (and be ladies instead!)
The HBO series “Girls” has done remarkably well in it’s short time of syndication. Creator/producer/director/star Lena Dunham has gained critical acclaim for her series, which purports to depict a realistic look into the gritty lives of 4 young women living in a less than perfect urban New York setting.
I personally am all about the truth and very much appreciate the idea of realism. However, this show REALLY rubs me the wrong way. No matter what anyone tells you, the show is filthy and is all about sex. Watch the following video for me to expound upon these ideas. And also let me tell you some about a girl who is as real as real can be (thanks Garth Brooks!), but is still very much a lady! As is always the case, the video is safe for all eyes and ears!
friends, I really do usually try to keep it to 2 minutes,
but I just couldn’t help it!
*I meant to say you will gain more than you miss by NOT watching that show…
Recap Schmecap:
1) I believe in free speech.
2) I have watched a few episodes of “Girls” (but I swear on my favorite lip gloss that I will never watch another one).
3) Sin is Sin
4) Wickedness NEVER was Happiness (Alma 41:10)
5) Don’t disregard a truth/ claim I make just cuz it’s churchy and you might not be into that kind of thing…
5) I don’t hate anyone (except for Satan)
6) I think that show has some good thematic substance, but the junk outweighs it BIG TIME.
7) Katherine doesn’t always look show-stoppin hot, but still keeps her clothes on…
8) Engaging in the sorts of behaviors that show portrays will NOT solve your problems. It will multiply them!
9) I never intend to be preachy or unkind or judgmental, but I ain’t afraid to have a strong opinion (duh!)
10) The devil twists truth for his own purposes (William Shakespeare, “The Merchant of Venice”)
YOU CAN BE CONFUSED ABOUT LIFE
WITHOUT HAVING RANDOM HOOK-UPS!
HBO? I think I’ll stick with H2O….
🙂
Pass this message/post along if ya wanna amigos.

When I try to rap…
it kinda comes out like this (warning: a bit of profanity):
Just to compare to the original, here it is (this one is clean):
Good thing I have this INSANELY talented rapper to collaborate with:
(and this clip doesn’t even show half of what he can do…)
More to come, but from the both of us: Dead Serious. 🙂
(and yes, I did just compare myself to Taylor Swift. And no, this isn’t the first time)

Enough detail to be vulnerable, refreshing, and honest…..
but not enough to be inappropriate, vulgar, or insensitive. That is my approach when it comes to this blog. And to my life. That is one of the reasons that I love (and hate) that little HBO show that shall be not be named. That is (one of the reasons) why pornography is terrible (random tangent but true none-the-less). That is how I strive to be. It can be a fine line to walk,
and all I can do is my very best. I know I speak the truth on here, but I also know what to put in, and what to leave out, both about my life and others’. Remember, part of the 3 fold description of this blog is “human.” That’s what I’m going for here, folks….I’m not afraid to put a hideous picture of myself on this blog (and there are plenty, aren’t there?) Just so long as I can put pretty pictures up too. According to Pinterest, Marilyn Monroe said that your clothes should be tight enough to show you’re a woman, but loose enough to show you’re a lady.
I want my blog to show that I’m a woman, and a lady. And a Mormon. The sum total of my experiences and beliefs make up Katherine. I wish to celebrate the diversity of my identity and experience. And in my 25 years, I’ve found that to be one of the trademarks of a great writer. Now, I may not be the next Willa Cather (we got the whole Kath/Cath thing going on, though) but believe it or not, I do put some time/ effort/ energy/ prayers/ tears/ laughter/ love into this lil’ blog. In the end though, please simply disregard everything I’ve written previously because it all really just comes down to that Webby and what I think voters are looking for 🙂

Philosophy 101 with Professor K Wilkinson
The theory of existentialism posits a few things, one of which may be stated as follows:
“death just reveals the absolute absurdity of life.” (“The Sopranos”- watched a few episodes after James Gandolfini died)
It’s true that we are born and that we later die. But perhaps in the space betwixt birth and death, we might experience, tell, and immortalize our stories. And if we’re lucky, we might just have a little fun while we’re at it 🙂
#humor (stretching on this one…but at least so with the post title, right?)
