so I don’t mind in the least that my car usually is not immaculate
course I still gotta get rid of some of the crap and vacuum it out sometimes
(line of propriety)
but overall it’s NOT my top priority
AND THAT IS OKAY!
Don’t ever give me crap about my car again (it’s not that bad anyways!). I ain’t lookin’ to be offended, but just don’t talk to me about that subject, k?
ya right, you’re better off tryin’ to freeze hell!
1) Learn more here about the amazingness known as the “Perpetual Education Fund.”
2) I have met a handful men and women who have benefited from the PEF, and it is obvious that their lives have been super blessed because of it!
3) I like the band “Fun” a lot. Here’s one of my favorite songs by them:
When you’re lost and alone, and you’re sinking like a stone….
CARRY ON!
Closing Thoughts:
The Latter-day Saint Perpetual Education Fund has done (and continues to do!) amazing things for men and women around the world who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to receive an education and better their economic opportunities. It is truly a philanthropic flagship, and I am grateful to pay a portion of my offerings to it every now and then.
~Ellie Graham (journalistic boss character from Runaway Bride)
Oh, and this is tangential, but “Runaway Bride” is one of my favorite films EVER. If you think it is a mindless chick flick, you are dead wrong! There is so much thematic substance in it that can relate to everyone. And I do mean everyone. Plus it’s funny, clean, short, and has the cute and talented Ms. Julia Roberts!
But as is always the case, I am kind and civil about this. Ain’t no James Dean, “rebel without a cause” thing going on here. This is NOT me being selfish or evading (legitimate) responsibility in any way at all.
I desire to work hard and stretch myself to serve others.
Still though. The number 1 person on my list is ME!
and for that I will NEVER apologize…
🙂

“I don’t answer to ANYBODY. And it’s a lovely, LOVELY feeling…”
Sorry, Pettermint Patty. I know it’s not your favorite color, but I just LOVE this shirt because of all the memories it brings me. But I swear to never wear it in your presence lest you faint of disapproval.
“A [wo]man filled with the love of God is not content to blessing [her] family alone, but ranges through the whole world, anxious to bless the whole human race.”
And holy freakin’ cow, does she embody it! Her money is TOTEZ where her mouth is…
Even I can’t find the words to express how I feel about this girl.
Help me out, Natasha:
Can’t think of a better way. That’s all I have to say. I love you!
PS. In case you’re wanting some sort of count, she’s been to Uganda (TWICE!), the Phillippines, Fiji, France, and probably a million other places I don’t even know about. Jet-lagged much?
Part-time journal, part-time missionary, part-time teacher, part-time money-maker (although I’m looking into getting a few more hours there, know what I mean?), part-time musician, part-time keeper (in touch with family and friends), part-time therapy, et cetera….. but full-time AWESOME!
PS. Please don’t read this as self-righteousness. And please also don’t misunderstand my metaphor. Members of the LDS church are not paid. Just thought I’d clear that up…
#This is the song that made everyone think JM was just a heart-throb lothario (which he is!), but us true fans know he’s much, much more.
#I try hard not to repeat pictures, but it’s one of the only tongue ones I have, and I don’t want to do a photo-booth picture just to get a good tongue shot. And least not today.
Remember when I told you I had learned to be confident having less melanin in my skin that others (IE I was happy being a whitie)?
Well, after reviewing some of the following pictures,
I’m beginning to have second thoughts…
PS. Readers PLEASE KNOW that skin color/tanning is NOT the only thing I think about when I see these pictures. Sure I appreciate beauty/fashion/makeup/color, etc. but even I’m not that shallow as to forget the wonderful faith, spirit, friendship and love of the people I met in Fiji.
Oh, and I interviewed a girl who was born into a polygamous family, but later converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Check it stat.
When I was living abroad for a brief period during the summer of 2010, I at one point sensed a need to unite the girls in our house. We weren’t having any major problems or anything, but we were living in close quarters, it was hot and sticky, and everyone had their share of humanitarian projects that didn’t go through quite as we had hoped. Plus I of all people know the importance of a good, hearty belly laugh every now and then. So I concocted this little project (and I feel the need to point out that while I of course had help, I was the head honcho of this artistic undertaking); I must say I think it turned out quite nicely! So even though we were different girls with different goals and objectives, we came together as friends of all shapes, sizes, and colors to SUPPORT each other.
🙂
this just might work for a Relief Society or Young Women’s break-the-ice activity…
I attract men like bees to pollen, like magnets to other magnets, like a moth to the flame.
There are 29 males in the above pictures. And only 1 glorious female…Boys, I ain’t saying it’ll be easy. You got some tough competition. But if you wanna go and take a ride with me, I guarantee there’ll never be a dull moment 🙂
PS. Quite a few of the above men are now married, 1 was my home-teacher, 3 were in my Bishopric, and 2 of them are my uncles. And I have never lip-kissed any of these guys. I am exploiting their XY chromosome genetic makeup to make myself look more attractive and desirable. Hopefully none of the wives find this blog and come at me with an ax. I swear I’m not “that girl.”
But as for the rest of you, maybe I’ll want to be “with you, with you, with you, with you, with you.” 🙂
Shy grass closes as a survival adaption/defense mechanism. As amazing at that is, let’s not follow its example…Don’t close yourself off when you are threatened….
*metaphor I made up as I wrote it-true story!
*Fiji good times
