but unfortunately her blatant sexuality (and other types of extreme behavior) throughout much of her career has greatly detracted from her talent, as she is often written off (perhaps somewhat rightfully so) as a publicity stunt.
“Controversy overshadows talent” is a theme that we see again and again.
*Also, I love fake eyelashes, but Ms. Aguilera’s are usually WAAAAAY too long and make her look like she has an arachnid on her eyes.
Girl, here’s an example of how to make those falsies look a little more natural:
Now ya’ll, don’t think I don’t occasionally enjoy Christina’s stuff! Here is one example where I greatly appreciate her music and her sense of fashion (the girl-next-door, casually sexy [but still appropriate!] look is one I go for a lot):
I also like this video because when I sing and bust a move, my audience is about the same size as hers.
The reason your “Wrecking Ball” video has 100 million+ views on YouTube (and in such a short time, too!) is not because of your emotional vulnerability or expression of utter heartbreak, as you have recently indicated. I presume that you already know this on some level or another, but Miley the real reason people are watching your video is because you are naked on a ball and are sexually licking a sledgehammer. Girl, come on now. You can do better than that.
Love, Ms. Katherine
*Readers– you better believe I have lots more to say concerning this young woman.
I got a way with words, people. And when necessary, I’m not afraid to turn up the charm, bat my pretty (fake) lashes, and use those words TO GET WHAT I WANT. But sometimes, people see what I’m doing and call me out on it. “Now you’re just stroking my ego,” they’ve said before. Well, just one question:
IS IT WORKING?
P.S. I do use words to get my way, but I’m smart and careful about it too. And even though words can be a tool, Katherine is NOT. My words can convince and persuade, but that doesn’t mean they are phony or fake. These words are my own; they’re from my heart.
This is Alan (he is very good looking and gave me permission to use his name, but asked to not have his picture included). He is a new friend who lives with his sister and brother-in-law here in Utah having recently moved from Long Beach, California. I don’t know him very well yet, but I can tell he is a good man who respects women, works hard, and is seeking truth. Alan is currently investigating the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I ain”t gonna hide the fact that I hope he joins, but whatever he decides, I am glad to have a new friend! Oh, and he sent me the following in an email. Totes made this girl’s day!
hey katherine it was really good meeting you yesterday. i didnt have time to read all of your blogs but i did get a chance to read the one about sex and the temple and ill say it did answer alot of my question. i didnt know it was that sacred. ill view more of your blogs when i have more time. you a very talented individual and i hope you succeed in your blogs. hope your day goes well.
Oh, and Alan’s sister is into eyelashes, too. Love this family already 🙂
Good problem to have, I’d say.
SOME MONEY SO FAR…but not a ton 🙂
Don’t want to get into that whole pride cycle thing described in the Book of Mormon. Although I AM already a Lamanite, right?
I WANT YOU TO BE PART OF MY BLOG! I am all about collaboration: musical, writing, business, product review, food, sharing of religious beliefs, etc. No promises, but as long as I feel like it represents myself, my family, my friends, and the Lord well, I’m up to discuss it. Dead serious. email@example.com
Remember when I got a little kiss from Andy Grammer? Well I worked REALLY hard for the opportunity to get those meet-and-greet passes. I even had to do this. And yes, I am confident enough to share:
(I’m still sleeping, Mom!)
I DO WHAT I WANT!
red wine and Ambien…
(I don’t drink wine or take Ambien, but I like the idea…)
Also, if you take medication or consume alcohol, YOU DEFINITELY SHOULDN’T MIX THEM!
1) What are good reasons to stay up all (or part) of the night?
2) What are BAD reasons?
Also, not everyone looks this cute
by a computer light glow at an obscene hour…
but I won’t sting.
PS. I suppose I’m actually a WASM. Can you get my joke?
I love colors. And I love dressing to IMpress, as well as EXpress.
But I want people to see and remember not just my clothes, but also ME and my natural beauty (enhanced a little with makeup and occasionally fake lashes). And when you wear a lot of bright things that stand out, there can be too many things to look at. So maybe if I wanna wear a bright color, I should just stick to one.
is like a sky without the stars. WHY WASTE A SECOND NOT LOVIN’ WHO YOU ARE?
#empowering, but not overly preachy/guidance-counselorish
# should I make Natasha Bedingfield a core belief?
#nearly every line is lyrical GOLD
#have done my own version-maybe will put it on the blog someday…
#fake eyelashes, yeppers
#I swear I have modest clothes! was at the Lake taking selfies…
#i could get more freckles if i stopped blogging and went outside…
Core Beliefs: beauty, humor, kindness, expression, understanding, Christ
I felt a bit of anxiety that beauty was so important to me that I classified it as a core belief. But that’s gone now that I’ve discovered and articulated this exciting truth. So I’m not gonna feel bad about dishing out $40 (from time to time) to get eyelash extensions…I used to feel like one of those dumb women in the scriptures (Isaiah?) who get cursed for their vanity…no more. I like being beautiful (within reason) and I ain’t gonna apologize ’bout that…
Core beliefs: Umm, lil obvious I think 🙂
Yeah, I hadn’t heard of it either. It’s just a fancy word for grinding your teeth. My dentist says I grind, so I (should) wear these at night to help keep my pearly whites intact. I
I apologize for the immodesty, but I was alone in my room. Plus you know my shoulders kinda make you hot and bothered. #inappropriate #couldbeworse
Core Beliefs: Beauty (kinda a twist on this one), expression, humor
Sometimes I am beautiful…..
Other days not so much….
Core beliefs: beauty, humor, expression, creativity
