There’s a gap between the writer and the reader
The listener and the speaker
The giver and the receiver
…
There’s a space between the meaning and the words
What’s said and what’s heard
What’s alleged and occurred
…
Understood and what’s meant
received and what’s sent
The action vs. the intent
…
Communication can lead to frustration
It’s hard to feel good when you’re misunderstood
Hate that darn, gaping gap
‘tween what’s real and abstract
…
So what’s the solution?
What can be done?
Should we try or surrender?
Can this battle be won?
..
It’s a tough transition; an imperfect, uncertain change
To try and speak the same language, be on the same page
But that’s why we’re here, right? That’s part of the test.
Sounds cheesy, I know, but just do your best!

There’s a space between what’s said and what’s heard… (another poem)

One website tops it all!
I use a lot of different websites and sources for research, development, entertainment, teaching, communication and of course for inspiration and reference for this blog. But one specific URL address stands out from all the rest…
this video is about 2x the length I usually do, but still watch it, okay? 🙂
Oh, and here’s just a little outtake:
Now, go visit that website I mentioned…
Love always, Ms. Katherine

If I had to sum up my life in one single song, it would be this one:
Take all of your wasted honor.
Every little past frustration.
Take all of your so-called problems.
Better put ’em in quotations.
SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY!
I am crying as I type this. I value writing, expression, speech, literacy, validation, and communication more than any physical object that I have ever owned or will ever own. LITERALLY! It is most certainly a sacred gift. Even my beloved lip gloss doesn’t come close to the joy of freedom of speech.
