I just got a Facebook Badge (on the right-hand column)!  Cool!  So add me if ya wanna….

But I won’t BADGEr you ’bout it 🙂

badger

Badge is an interesting word.  It’s one of the words that is not super rare but not super common either.  What does it even mean?  We all kinda know intuitively but it can be hard to pinpoint an exact definition, know what I mean?  And although Ms. Natasha Bedingfield claims we “don’t need a dictionary helping,” I actually did consult one in this case:

Fascinating….

(this is not my fave JM song, but I still appreciate it)

“This house is safe and warm, but I was made to chase the storm.”

oh my gosh, this lyric TOTEZ reminds me of a speech

that was given at BYU a few years ago!

I read some stuff by Stephen Crane in an American Lit class at BYU.  Interesting.  Lots of violence, if I remember correctly.  Used stylistically and to serve a purpose, but still I strongly dislike the subject.  Just sayin’.

getting off topic again…

BADGE!

Friends:  What do YOU think of the word “badge“?

PS.  Go count all the cool stuff in the post.

Do I stay that too often?

Christina Aguilera is an incredibly gifted musician,

but unfortunately her blatant sexuality (and other types of extreme behavior) throughout much of her career has greatly detracted from her talent, as she is often written off (perhaps somewhat rightfully so) as a publicity stunt.

“Controversy overshadows talent” is a theme that we see again and again.

Sigh.

*Also, I love fake eyelashes, but Ms. Aguilera’s are usually WAAAAAY too long and make her look like she has an arachnid on her eyes.

Girl, here’s an example of how to make those falsies look a little more natural:

Now ya’ll, don’t think I don’t occasionally enjoy Christina’s stuff!  Here is one example where I greatly appreciate her music and her sense of fashion (the girl-next-door, casually sexy [but still appropriate!] look is one I go for a lot):

I also like this video because when I sing and bust a move, my audience is about the same size as hers.

Accepting (legitimate) apologies

is just as much of an important people-skill as is accepting (legitimate) criticism.

And forgiving someone/accepting their apology does NOT mean

you are condoning their behavior/sin as acceptable…

“I’m sorry for blaming you..and I HURT MYSELF by hurting you…”

Once again, I am saying A LOT here without using a lot of words.

Go “search, ponder, and pray” about these ideas.

Not EVERY apology is necessarily warranted though!

(line of propriety…)

Like you probably WON’T (or shouldn’t!) accept my apology

for this crazy hairdo/ pose/ picture…

#I KNOW this song is old, but it’s a goodie 🙂

#Christina, LET ME HELP YOU TONE DOWN THAT MAKEUP A LIL AND REALLY BRING OUT YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY!

#i’m all for religious freedom, but baby girl come on home to Mormonism

#dream of doing my own version of this song soon.  if you’re interested, hit me up.  Dead serious.  I promise my shirt will cover my whole stomach, too.

Top 3 reasons why guitar is the best instrument:

1)  it’s social (or at least it should be):
Image
2)  it’s easily portable:

I highly doubt you are going to take your harp to the next ward bonfire 🙂

3)  it’s versatile:  You can play very different kinds of music with the same instrument.  Example:

(same artist, same general type of guitar, CRAZY DIFFERENT MUSIC!)

Now how many other instruments can you say all that about?

Oh, and to top it all off, I play the guitar too 🙂

P.S. Truth be told I REALLY like the violin, but sadly I don’t play..

Core Beliefs:  Humor, beauty, expression, creativity, understanding
