and still I forgive Chris Brown.
I the Lord will forgive whom I will forgive,
but of you it is required to forgive ALL men.”
Once again, I go over my standard 2 minutes
because it is important for me to express ALL I need to say:
Recapture:
I forgive Chris Brown.
I’m quite sure Rihanna has publicly expressed that she has.
I in no way condone his past behavior as acceptable.
Abuse of any kind is unspeakably evil, ugly, and utterly unacceptable.
I can understand where Miranda Lambert (and others with similar viewpoints) are coming from.
I believe that the Atonement of Jesus Christ can redeem even people who make BIG mistakes.
I believe Mr. Brown when he has publicly expressed how sorry he is.
I expect Chris to be on his absolute best behavior from now on.
I sincerely hope I am not offending anyone who has ever experienced abuse.
And to begin to conclude this post, I wish to share the following LDS Conference Talk concerning this heartbreaking topic.
I pray that you, as one abused or one who has caused it, will act now to avail yourself of the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I testify that your faith and obedience will assure that He will help you.
Thank you Elder Scott.
READERS!
If any of you have experienced
or are currently experiencing abuse of any kind,
my heart and prayers are with you.
Remember that you are a child of God
and deserve to be treated as such.

rarely works.
But still know your stuff!
And still stand up for it (the Church).
“Though argument does not create conviction, lack of it destroys belief.”
~CS Lewis
Here is an interesting talk that is somewhat (though not directly)
related to this idea.
Overall, when it comes to nitpicking and even (quasi) arguing about religion,
just try to remember that it’s about Christ.
And that if someone isn’t interested,
IT. IS. OKAY.
(Line of Propriety)
Remember that the most important convert in your life is YOU.
The most important testimony to maintain is your own.
Capiche?
While we ought to maintain the purity of the image of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we need not feel anxiety about “enemies” (real or perceived). Furthermore, we should seek to avoid being overly defensive while simultaneously exercising conviction in our own faith.

This blog is powerful. It has the potential to do a lot of good. And it is doing a lot of good! You see, I have been able to open a lot of doors for myself and for others, get in touch with friends and family, attract the attention of a few handsome gents, find my niche as a writer (you can do that in 2013!) and also express my testimony of Jesus Christ. And when it comes to people reading my stuff, all I’ll say now (while hoping to not come across as arrogant and also being fully aware that I may run out of creativity tomorrow) is this:
PEOPLE. ARE. READING.
(28 days, 38 countries, but who’s counting?)
So yes, this blog is good, great, excellent, beautiful, invigorating, et cetera. They need a new word for the potential of this blog. (I’ll probably come up with one soon. Stay tuned.)I would be ignorant if I overlooked the potential it has to do a lot of bad, too. Like, I can’t get SO caught up in it that I don’t go help a friend pack up before a move (which I told her I would do and was 3 hours tardy). Or talk about it all the time (I have improved and repented, but still am not perfect). Or think I’m the next big shot (the thought has crossed my mind once or twice but then I looked in the mirror at my unkempt hair and ate another bite of my cold spaghettios). So to wrap up this paragraph, I’ll just say that I NEED to be careful about this blog!
(Oh, right, I need to make it relevant to the reader as well.) You should care because Katherine’s epiphany involves you too! You may not have a blog. But most people today have a Facebook, or an email, or some other form of social media. And those things can be good! And I personally am glad you have one or you wouldn’t be reading this right now 🙂 But I digress. Let me wrap it up in a cute little phrase that could become the next big meme or may be relayed in some Mia Maid’s class in Timbuktu:
You have a Facebook. Don’t let your Facebook have YOU!
And NOW, let’s get to why I used “sexy” in the title. The LDS Church (and other denominations, religions, affiliations!) teaches that sex is a powerful tool. For good. And for bad. (let me redirect you to a link where I further expound upon this topic and simultaneously increase my own traffic). So make sure you use your social media of choice (and your own physical body) for GOOD!
(look at the title!)
And although our lines of propriety may be different, we all need to have one. I have further ideas/resources available to help us keep in control, but want to guarantee that you keep coming back so I will leave you wanting more with that cliffhanger…
Your Blog is Sexy! But don’t let it become TOO Sexy!
The scripture which I will reference momentarily is NOT the first time I have used it (good readers pay attention when [good] writers repeat because it is screaming “EMPHASIS!”)
O be wise. What can I say more?
(if you click on that link, it will take you to not only the scripture, but also to a great Conference talk given on the subject. Missionary work!)
And now let me embed another address about making sure we stay in charge of our media consumption:
Wow. Just wow. Elder Bednar is a spiritual, powerful, and courageous leader.
I am eternally grateful for his counsel.
So now what?
THE END (maybz..)
Phew! That was a long post. But I do think that the Lord helped me with it.
And more than just a little, know what I’m sayin?
Off to the grocery store for this girl!
Sayonara. And NOT just to my Japanese fans…
PS. I ain’t running out of things to write about any day soon. Just sayin’

Maria is a friend from my Mormon Singles Ward. She is always finding ways to serve other people, expressing her testimony of Jesus Christ, AND making us all laugh. One specific thing I appreciate about Maria is that she is very aware of job opportunities and uses our ward Facebook page to post them for anyone who might be interested or looking. Way to bear one another’s burdens (of unemployment). Love you, sweet girl.
PS. Plus she got to meet Elder Holland. Lucky duck!

In October 2008, Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin (an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) gave an address entitled “Come What May and Love it” in Mormon General Conference. It caught on like wild-fire. The address has to do with not only accepting unforeseen circumstances, but also finding JOY in them. Best part is when he mentions how his daughter’s blind-date went awry. The address itself is fantastic to say the least, but I think the REAL genius is in the title/catch-phrase. You see, Elder Wirthlin took a familiar phrase:
AND MADE IT HIS OWN!
And thus he single-handedly spawned many a kitchen plaque and Pinterest Meme…
So that’s the key to making something do so well! Do a phrase twist! Take an idiom/cliche that everyone knows well, and add your own unique spin to it! That way, “that original feeling [will] never [go] away“!
I’ve tried this tactic before; on this blog even! Here are a few of my examples.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness, but it’s NOT Godliness.
Blog is made for Katherine, and NOT Katherine for Blog.
One is sexy dark chocolate, and the other flaxen gold.
Lessons Plans are made for teachers, and NOT teachers for lesson plans.
(oh yah, and the Biebz has been known to do it, too. Here’s one example: The grass ain’t always greener on the other side, it’s green where you water it.)
Of course, I’ll never be able to do it as well as Elder Wirthlin. Come to think of it, his wife was an English major if I remember correctly. He probz got it all from her. And so I guess it looks like my future husband will be an apostle then…TBOB! (thunderbolt of blasphemy)…
PS. In case you are wondering, this post alone contains ideas inspired by the following: Elder Wirthlin, Natasha Bedingfield, BYU, Moulin Rouge, Twitter, The Book of Luke in the New Testament, Justin Bieber, Pinterest, and blasphemy/sacrilege. Well done, Katherine. Well. Done. 🙂

Nope, just a play on words to make you read this post. Another National Enquirer tactic I employed there. Thunderbolt of blasphemy? I think I’m alright…
Neil, just so you know, the invitation to come see me still stands tall…
Read Neil’s famous blog here. Totes changed this girl’s vida…

But both it and I are still pretty cool, I think. And while we are on the subject, “perfection” is an interesting idea. It can make us strive to become our best selves, or it can drive us insane. There has been a lot said on the idea, including studying the etymology of the word itself. Christ spoke of it in the book of Matthew. I wish to further explore this idea in another post, but for now, allow this LDS apostle to shed some light and insight onto the idea of realistic perfection:
Perfection Pending
(!!!!)
And I DO lock keys in the car AND forget where it is parked. More than I would like to admit…
“Men are that they might have joy, not guilt trips”

Mormon, Baptist, Jew, Agnostic, Atheist, Catholic, Muslim, Sihk, Gay, Straight, Black, White, Brown, Purple etc. (not listed in order of importance btw but Mormon IS number 1 on MY list…just sayin”) This one’s for YOU!
Wanna know something? Everyone can create! And I’m not just talking about the sexy dance of procreation 🙂 I’m talking about being an artist. Making something beautiful. Something of value. Something of substance…
We can’t all be this girl:
(Natasha with her guitarist Luca)
Or this man:
(Mark Twain for those who don’t read in this digital age)
Or this guy:
(been hanging out with Mike Tyson lately, Vincent?)
And we DEF can’t all be this woman:
(She’s obviously amazing and is helping the human race not go extinct, but I don’t want to be her anyways…..)
BUT WE CAN ALL CREATE! WE ARE ALL ARTISTS! I’M YELLING OUT OF JOY NOT ANGER…Enough with the caps-lock…
This beautiful German man says it better than I ever could (and that’s saying something!)…..
Read the full address here: https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2008/10/happiness-your-heritage?lang=eng He’s talking specifically to women but his words are a universal truth, yes they are…
“You may say ‘I am not the creative type.’ If that is how you feel, THINK AGAIN.”
How do YOU create?
*not trying to convert you to the LDS Church (ain’t no bait-and-switch), but if you do I wouldn’t hate it…
#not trying to be preachy, just excited and wanted to share…
Core Belief: Expression, Kindness, Beauty, Creativity, Understanding, Humor, Christ
(ALL OF THEM!)
*might be my best blog post yet….
