Is it time for you to forgive yourself?

Image Keith Urban has forgiven himself for his mistakes. So has John Mayer. So has Katy Perry. And so have I.

Do YOU need to forgive yourself for anything?

How can you let go of your past and rid yourself of unnecessary burdens so that you can (finally) be at peace?

Little Piece of Heaven

Perusing Sephora!

Sephora is the Mecca of makeup stores, in case you didn’t know.

Sadly, I can usually only afford 1-2 items per trip (quality ain’t cheap, ya’ll!).  It’s like a diabetic in an ice cream parlor.  Sigh.  But that doesn’t stop me from spending hours there (sometimes literally!) brushing up on the latest colors, styles, and brands.  Oh, and of course sampling a TON of products!   Some might call this vain, worldly, and foolish.  I call it beautiful, creative, and artistic.  After that, I just might tell any haters of my beauty hobby/obsession to go to hell.

Oh, and when I went a few days ago, I heard this classic Natasha song as I was checking out.  Don’t hate that!

Sephora is a little bit of heaven on earth.  Will write more later…

I just got a Facebook Badge (on the right-hand column)!  Cool!  So add me if ya wanna….

But I won’t BADGEr you ’bout it 🙂

Badge is an interesting word.  It’s one of the words that is not super rare but not super common either.  What does it even mean?  We all kinda know intuitively but it can be hard to pinpoint an exact definition, know what I mean?  And although Ms. Natasha Bedingfield claims we “don’t need a dictionary helping,” I actually did consult one in this case:

(this is not my fave JM song, but I still appreciate it)

“This house is safe and warm, but I was made to chase the storm.”

oh my gosh, this lyric TOTEZ reminds me of a speech

that was given at BYU a few years ago!

girl you are waaaaaay off topic, get back to the basics

basics christina!

back to Badge, you smart-aleck!

red badge

I read some stuff by Stephen Crane in an American Lit class at BYU.  Interesting.  Lots of violence, if I remember correctly.  Used stylistically and to serve a purpose, but still I strongly dislike the subject.  Just sayin’.

getting off topic again…

Friends:  What do YOU think of the word “badge“?

PS.  Go count all the cool stuff in the post.

Do I stay that too often?

“Back in Paris, you told me you were suicidal.”

ImageIt’s not a vacation if I lose you to the Eiffel.

What do these words mean?  Why did John Mayer choose to have this brief interlude (by the oh so talented Frank Ocean) on his Paradise Valley album?  A lot of people are wondering.  But only the artist(s) know(s) the full answer.

*as ya’ll should know by now, I REALLY don’t like violence.  But this lyric is so striking that it deserves attention, huh?

Brad Paisley is the John Mayer of country music.

Image   Image

Just a few ways this is true.

BP and JM are both:

1)  Good looking

2)  Super Satirists

3)  Hilarious (they both are known to be master pranksters, just like me!)

4)  Guitar Gods

5)  Talented beyond belief but still able to connect with fans

6)  Versatile

7)  TRUE musicians

8) Good guys (though at least one has made some mistakes in the past)

9)  Timeless

10)  Just overall AWESOME!

Oh, yeah, and great artists collaborate!

This was for CMT’s Crossroads a few years ago, but they even mixed their magic just a few months ago again for BP’s song “Beat this Summer.”  Cool!

This is a call to the color-blind.  This is an IOU…

Why is it not my time?  What is there more to learn?!

heart girl!

LOVE this line with all my heart!

*oh, and I’ve seen both of these gentlemen in concert.

PS.  I think Brad and John have some great collaborations, but I actually enjoy John’s stuff with Keith Urban even more.  Stay.  Tuned.

Changing your mind

doesn’t necessarily mean you are caving to pressure.

Figuratively or literally.

Listen, we can’t change our minds too much.  But we can’t be too stuck in our ways, either!  If patterns go too longer unexamined, they become our prisons.  Also, we can be empathetic and understanding even as we stick to our guns.

Line of propriety

is there anyone who ever remembers changing their mind from the paint on a sign?

~John Mayer (duh!)

Myth vs. experience

thought love was dead but not you’re changing my mind!

~Travie McCoy (duh!)

you change your mind like a girl changes clothes

~Katy Perry

How do these things relate to YOU?

When have you changed your mind?

When have you not?

Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow

I don’t care if [I] don’t sleep at all tonight…

ImageLet’s just fix this whole thing now…

    ~John Mayer (duh!)

Words cannot express how much I LOVE this song.

If you don’t listen to it, then it’ll be a heartbreak warfare!

And come to think of it, this song kept me company on another late night.

*I’m still sleeping,

Trish-trish 🙂
