How Oft Does Jesus Cross Your Thoughts? (a poem)

How oft does Jesus cross your thoughts?
His miracles and all He taught?
With all you read and all you see
Do you ponder on Him who set you free?

There’s no shortage of what kind of thoughts can thrive
In the colorful corners of your mind
Creative, constructive, chaotic, critical
Frustrative, productive, neurotic, political

In the barrage of contemplation, Christ can de-emphasized
So I’m tryin’ to clear the clutter from my busy mind
And I feel my heart change as I begin
to make more room in my Christmas inn

And “as a [wo]man thinketh…, so is [s]he,
So perhaps I’ll live a bit differently
When I merely reflect on thee
The humble man from Galilee 🙂

“Jesus, The Very Thought Of Thee…”
-Hymn # 141
