Mormons aren’t forced to obey anything their leaders say. So your talk is pretty cheap if you imply we’re mindless sheep.

It REALLY bothers me when someone says, implies, thinks, or in any way insinuates that Mormons are controlled by our leaders (whom we often refer to as The Brethren).  Yes, we accept their counsel as divinely inspired, but we are NOT forces to obey (or even believe!) anything at all.  The principle of agency is foundational to the Latter-day Saint theology.  Consequently, we are free to choose what we say, do, and believe.  So don’t go thinking or saying that our leaders control us.  That.  Is.  Not.  The.  Case.  Sound good?  Perfect! <3
